Honda's All-wheel-drive systems

Honda has two AWD systems: Real Time AWD™ technology and the Intelligent Variable Torque Management™ (i-VTM4®) AWD System. 


Real Time AWD™ transfers power to the back wheels at times when necessary to help prevent wheelslip. It's more suited to average driving conditions, including wet and snowy roads.


The i-VTM4® system is a more fine-tuned drivetrain configuration designed for off-roading and the most challenging types of terrain. This sophisticated system dynamically senses which wheel axle needs more torque, and then distributes power accordingly.

Honda HR-V


The HR-V strives to provide value with through its affordability and fuel efficiency. Though Real Time AWD™ doesn't come standard on the 2022 HR-V, it's an available option on all trim levels. 


Honda CR-V


The slightly bigger sibling of the HR-V, the CR-V blends efficient efficiency with comfort, convenience, and a versatile seating layout. Real Time AWD™ automatically comes on the top-tier Touring trim as well as the hybrid versions of the CR-V EX and CR-V EX-L. Though, you can select it as an upgrade for the LX and Special Edition trims, as well as the non-hybrid versions of the EX and EX-L trims. 






Honda Passport


The five-passenger Passport provides a compromise between the petite CR-V and the large Pilot, making it a smart choice for young couples and small families. The base trim of the 2022 Passport offers the i-VTM4® AWD System as optional. You won't have to pay extra for this drivetrain when you choose the two higher trims, the TrailSport and Elite, which include it as the standard drivetrain.


Honda Pilot


The seven trims of the family-friendly 2022 Pilot make it easy to pick the version to fit your preferences and needs. Honda i-VTM4® comes standard on the TrailSport, Elite, and Black Edition trims. You can add it as an option on the Sport, EX-L, Special Edition, or Touring trims. 

Honda Ridgeline
